G Adventures have formed a million-dollar partnership with the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), a member of the Inter-American Development Bank Group (IDB), to develop a sustainable community-based tourism programme in Central and South America.

Essex hotel pool deaths: Post mortem reveals couple drowned
A couple who were found dead in the swimming pool of luxury country hotel in Essex had drowned a post mortem have revealed.
The management of the hotel hope that the findings will put an end to what it has called “inappropriate speculation”.

A con-artist couple running a series of travel agents in the US swindled hundreds of thousands of dollars from customers – and bought a $700,000 mansion with the profits.
Daryl Turner, 41, and wife Robyn Bernstein, 43, have been accused of opening a string of eight travel agents over the course of 4 years, promising deals that involved free cruises and flights if customers paid up front.
Irish travel agent La Mon Travel admits to scamming customers
A travel agent in Downpatrick, Ireland has been been found guilty of a series of customer cons amounting to over £100,000 of cash taken under false pretences.
The couple running the agency kept customer’s cash deposits for themselves to pay for their own holidays, used customer’s credit card details to pay for their own luxury cruises.

A female tourist was raped and robbed after being kidnapped whilst on a bus in Rio with her boyfriend.
The pair boarded the bus near the Copacabana beach in the Brazilian capital.

Man accused of murder of Irish backpacker appears in Melbourne court

Austrlian martial arts expert Luke James Wentholt has pleaded not guilty to murdering Irish backpacker David Greene.
Wentholt is accused of “forceful stomping” on the heads of backpacker David Greene and his travelling companion friend David Byas at a hostel in the Melbourne suburb of St Kilda.
BBC Casualty TV star Clive Mantle’s ear bitten off during fight at Newcastle Travelodge
Actor Clive Mantle, who played Mike Barrent in the BBC show Casualty was involved in a fight at Travelodge in Newcastle.
According to the Daily Mail, Mantle asked some fellow guests to keep the noise down and was attacked. Part of the actor’s ear had to be sewn back on by hospital surgeons.
