Homestay director joins ABiC line-up

Stefan Morgan, the director of Homestay Australia, has joined the stellar line-up of speakers for next week’s Adventure and Backpaking industry conference (ABiC,November 4, Menzies Hotel, Sydney).

Among others, he joins Tourism Minister Richard Colbeck, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary to the Leader of the Opposition Terri Butler MP, economist Clifford Bennett and travel entrepreneur Neil Geddes on a distinguished platform.
Homestay Australia Pty Ltd has grown to provide over 3000 Homestay Accommodation options throughout Australia.
Stefan describes Homestay as “a quiet achiever in the Australian accommodation market”.
He says, “Predominately marketed to International students, Homestay Accommodation can become an integral part of the services offered by the Adventure Travel market in Australia by providing a low cost, all inclusive accommodation option in locations near where Adventure Travel Operators provide their services.
He will advise delegates about the powerful new dynamic at play in the travel accommodation sector.
The conference will examine the speed and scale of the expansion of the model pioneered by the likes of Homestay and Airbnb, which has been nothing short of startling, capturing a clear public desire for a new, better, less costly solution to the quest for somewhere good to stay on holiday.  But what opportunities does it present for the adventure travel industry. And what challenges does it pose to the established hotel and hostel providers?
